WINGS: Women's Initiative for Ageing Successfully

Great resource for Older Women in Singapore.

-----
Teresa Hsu is 108 years old, but age hasn't stopped the centenarian from bending over backwards to help the needy.

And her secret to a fulfilling journey into the golden years, is a positive attitude.

Teresa is among 3 older women roped in as role models of growing old with vigour - at the launch of WINGS' drop-in centre targetted at women 40 and above.

Computer Woes again

Forgive me for not posting sooner. The new hard drive that was installed after Thanksgiving has just died again...and without warning.

I thought it would be like last time...just a pain as I have been backing up on a regular basis. In fact, a back up was in progress when the drive failed. But guess what?...no backup! This means most everything I've been doing since January is gone. Articles, the book, websites I was working on, and all contact data - including email.

If you have been trying to get ahold of me, please be patient and try again!

Many thanks!

Barbara

The Forbes Report on America's Seniors

According to Forbes, America's Seniors Healthier and Wealthier Than Ever Before, however as you read it further, women are still almost twice as likely to be living in poverty. "In 2003, women were more likely than men to be living in poverty (13 percent vs. 7 percent).

In addition to ones financial status, this report looks at the education levels, health status, and our location in the US among other factors for those 65 and older.

It's worth taking a peak at the article.
